HCLTech recruits freshers on two tracks: the campus and off-campus Graduate Engineer Trainee assessment for engineering graduates (with the AMP Ascend / Momentum / Polaris programmes above it), and TechBee, an early-career programme that takes Class 12 pass-outs through a paid year of training into an IT job alongside a sponsored degree.

- B.E./B.Tech in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE and related branches (some drives include MCA / M.Sc) — 60% aggregate throughout, no active backlogs, gap ≤ 1 year
- Four 15-minute MCQ sections (Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Computer Fundamentals — 15 questions each) plus a 2-problem coding round
- Graduate Engineer Trainee at ~₹4.25–4.5 LPA (Graduate Trainee ~₹3.25–3.5 LPA); AMP Momentum / Polaris upgrades sit above it
- Communication / voice round, then technical and HR interviews

HCLTech TechBee — the early-career programme for Class 12 students: eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus, aptitude, reasoning, verbal and computer-basics questions, selection process, training, fees, salary and preparation guide.
- Class XII pass-outs of 2025 or 2026 (Maths or Business Maths mandatory for IT roles, ≥ 60%); board-wise cut-offs of 60–75%; JEE Main ≥ 80 percentile exempt from the test
- HCL CAT online test (quantitative, logical, English) → Versant English test → HR interview and essay → offer
- 12 months of training — 6–9 months classroom plus 3–6 months on-the-job with a ₹10,000 / month stipend; fee ₹1.40 lakh (IT) or ₹51,000 (Digital Process Support) with loan and waiver options
- Starts at ₹2.50 LPA (IT Services) or ₹2.20 LPA (Digital Process Support) alongside a sponsored degree from partners such as BITS Pilani, SASTRA and IIIT Kottayam
